My family and I, as well as many of our friends, will be “celebrating” Purple Day. I’m blessed with friends and family who share my desire to help make people more aware of epilepsy and the need for more research. As we do this for the fourth or fifth year in a row, I want to recognize all of the things that we have to be grateful for:
I am grateful for a wonderful pediatric neurologist who is with the Children’s Hospital of the Kings’ Daughters – also a wonderful hospital.
I am grateful for wonderful teachers of special needs children – the ones involved with my dear daughter have truly been remarkable and have pushed hard to see that she gets the assistance that she needs.
I am grateful for the wonders of modern medicine – without it, she would not be walking and interacting the way she is today.
We are all grateful for her overall good health and lack of seizures for two years now – every day seizure-free is a wonderful day.
